Curved limestone forms and fluted glass, softened by coastal planting.
Ecru is a knockdown rebuild in Bondi that replaces a tired post-war cottage with two sculpted residences in warm limestone render. The architecture is all curves — rounded balconies traced in slender steel balustrade, a fluted-glass entry core, garden stairs that fold up the site's natural fall. Where Alder is dark and grounded, Ecru is light and coastal: travertine floors, rippled glass, sheer curtains that filter the eastern sun. The section works hard on a tight block, tucking garaging into the base and lifting living areas to catch the light, while landscaping in olive, kangaroo paw and coastal succulents settles the building into its street. Ecru is currently in concept development, with design approval targeted for late 2026.

Every finish specified at 2C–2D Ecru Residences, Bondi — from façade cladding to tapware — as scheduled by Studio Bide.
Ecru is finished in a light coastal palette: natural-white and fluted concrete render with dark bronze window frames outside; herringbone Chateau Grey oak, Ecru Oak joinery, Irish Calacatta marble and brushed bronze tapware within. The curved façade is built from two whites — a natural-white stamped render and a fluted concrete render — held by dark bronze window frames and a brass-handled fluted glass entry.
