A charcoal-brick duplex of gabled pavilions, drawn low into its garden.
Alder is a pair of one-of-a-kind residences at 79 Harcourt Parade, Rosebery, composed as twin gabled pavilions in black Colorbond Klip-Lok cladding above a base of Bowral Blue brick. The street elevation gives little away — deep brick reveals, planted balconies, a single number on a rendered blade wall — and that restraint is the point. Inside, the section opens up: double-height voids under the gables, antique-white oak floors, Hazel Oak joinery and a Breccia Cascade marble kitchen, with brushed bronze tapware carried through every wet area. The material palette is short and disciplined so the craftsmanship carries the room. Every junction was drawn, priced and resolved before the slab was poured, which is how the project holds its line on budget and programme. Alder is currently under construction, with completion scheduled in 2026.

Alder is finished in a dark-outside, warm-inside palette: black Colorbond Klip-Lok cladding and Bowral Blue brick externally; antique-white oak floors, Hazel Oak joinery, Breccia Cascade marble and brushed bronze tapware within.
